A ‘Marvel’-ous new trailer

Last week Marvel released the long-anticipated trailer for “Captain Marvel.” After “Avengers: Infinity War” there was an after-after credits scene that gave audiences a hint of what the future holds. Since then audiences have been waiting for their introduction to Carol Danvers.
From the trailer, it’s clear that the film will not be taking place in the present time. From Carol’s Nine Inch Nails shirt to the Blockbuster she crashes into at the beginning of the trailer, it looks like the ‘90s are calling. But who doesn’t love the ‘90s?
We also see some familiar faces. Nick Fury — who has both eyes — seems to show Carol around S.H.I.E.L.D, which could explain how she becomes involved in the untitled “Avengers” film. There is also a brief second where we see Agent Coulson — remember him? — but he looks exactly the same. No de-aging like Samuel L. Jackson’s character. Curious isn’t it?
After her life on Earth, which she can’t entirely remember, she finds herself fighting alongside a group of supervillains known as Starforce. Created by the Kree — introduced in “Guardians of the Galaxy” — they follow the orders of the Supreme Intelligence in order to regain control of the empire, but that’s just from the comics. The film could have an entirely different background.
Larson’s character has been confirmed by Marvel several times to be the most powerful hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and that she will play a major role in the next “Avengers” movie. If that doesn’t get you excited for the next “Avengers” film then you’re kidding yourself.
And just before the title screen shows, fans get a glimpse of Danvers’ faux-hawk. The symbol which she is famously known for. And if you were to go back and watch the trailer again, you’d probably see more clues and easter eggs.
This will be Marvel’s first female-led film, and its safe to say that most people are excited for the film to hit theaters in March of 2019.
