Lady Bengals place 2nd in District, compete against Flower Mound for Bi-District Champs

The Braswell Lady Bengals will face the Flower Mound Lady Jaguars in the first round of the girls basketball state playoffs at Guyer High School Mon., Feb. 13. The Lady Bengals finished second in their 5-6A division with a record of 11-3 while the Lady Jaguars finished third in the 6-6A devision with a record of 10-4.
Braswell ended off the season against Prosper Rock Hill and won 61-19. Flower Mound finished their season a 50-34 win against Lewisville. Head Girls Basketball Coach Lisa Williams looks back on the season going into the first round of playoffs.
“This season has gone pretty well,” Williams said. “We’ve experienced a few bumps in the road but have shown a bit of resiliency. I’m extremely proud of these young ladies. They have worked very hard in preparation for this season.”
Coach Williams also knows that with playoffs also comes a fresh slate.
“Realizing that everyone is 0-0 now, we want to somehow change our #m1ndset to being fierce competitors,” Williams said. “For success, we will have to execute the little things.”
The Lady Bengals and Lady Jaguars both finished their regular season at 27-7.
