Braswell High School announces its 2024 varsity, junior varsity red/black, and freshmen red/black football schedules. The schedules will feature newly assigned district 5-6A competition from Lewisville ISD schools and Coppell High School.
Braswell will conduct an away varsity football scrimmage on August 23 versus Chisholm Trail High School (Fort Worth, TX).
The Bengals open the fall season in Boswell on August 30 against the Boswell Pioneers. Braswell will follow that game with its first home game versus V.R. Eaton High School on September 6. The Bengals lost to the Eagles in their season opener last year 22-28 and will look to make a comeback in 2024. The Bengals will also host their annual Middle school, elementary, youth football and cheer night
Braswell will host Royce City Nelson High School at Carrico Stadium for its second home game on September 13. The game doubles as the Bengals’ Homecoming football game.
The Bengals will have an open/bye week during the fourth week of the regular season.
The regular season schedule begins October 4 with the 2024 district 5-6A matches and starts with the rivalry game against cross-town foe Little Elm High School (2023 district 5-6A record 1-6, overall 2-8) at Carrico Stadium.
In the sixth game of the season, the Bengals will travel slightly south to face the Lewisville Fighting Farmers (2023 district 6-6A record 6-1, overall 8-3) at Lewisville High School. Next up is a home game with the Flower Mound Marcus Marauders (2023 district 6-6A record 4-3, overall 4-7).
The next Friday Braswell will play Flower Mound High School (2023 district 6-6A record 3-4, overall 5-5) at Carrico Stadium. They will follow it by visiting the 2023 district 6-6a record 7-0 team (12-1 overall) Coppell High School.
Braswell will host Hebron High School at Carrico Stadium for its 11th home game on November 9 with its annual football, athletic trainers, cheer, royals, band, yearbook and honor guard senior night.
To close out regular season games, Braswell will travel down the short (but sometimes traffic-congested) road to Denton to compete against Denton ISD district rival Guyer (2023 district 5-6A record 3-4, regular season 5-5) at C.H. Collins Athletic Complex.
“It’s going to be another extremely competitive district with the addition of Lewisville ISD schools and Coppell,” Braswell head football coach and athletic director Kent Laster said. “Coppell was a very good team, I believe they went undefeated in their district and they won their first playoff game against our district last year. They are very competitive, Lewisville as well.”
Tickets for all district games hosted at Carrico Stadium and C.H. Collins Athletic Complex can be purchased online at gofan.co.
