Denton ISD announced Wednesday that all Denton ISD campuses would close Thurs. Feb. 3 and Fri. Feb. 4 due to Inclement Weather.

A winter storm is expected to approach the North Texas area in a few hours. Weather experts at NBC DFW estimate that the storm will produce rain Wednesday evening, it will transition to freezing rain Wednesday evening/Thursday morning and is expected to transition to snow Thursday afternoon.

A winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service is in effect for Denton County from 6pm Wed. Feb. 2 until 6pm Thurs. Feb. 3.

Denton ISD joins Allen ISD, Arlington ISD, Carroll ISD, Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, Cedar Hill ISD, Dallas ISD, and Fort Worth ISD, among other school districts, cancelling school due to inclement weather.

School is expected to resume Mon., Feb. 7.
