Staff Report

The University Interscholastic League announced its annual realignment for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 school years Thurs. Feb. 3. Braswell stayed with most of its same partners from the past two years in district 5-6A, with the addition of Prosper Rock Hill.

Joining Braswell in District 5 will be Allen, Denton Guyer, Little Elm, McKinney, McKinney Boyd, Prosper and Prosper Rock Hill.

Every school except for Prosper Rock Hill competed in 5-6A during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 school years with Braswell. Prosper Rock Hill joins 5-6A after leaving 5A.

“We are excited about the district staying relatively the same,” athletic director and head football coach Cody Moore said. “It’s the toughest 6A district in the state and the addition of Rock Hill will certainly add to that. I’ve been very proud of the transition we have made to the 6A classification and I look forward to continuing to improve. While making the playoffs will be challenging in all sports, if you are able to get in you could play for awhile.  This is a great situation for Braswell.”
