The tastiest spots in Frisco

The tastiest spots in Frisco

Brittney Dear, Editor

You don’t have to head out of town to have fun over spring break — or at least enjoy some tasty fare. Here’s a look at my favorite dining spots in Frisco:

5. Gloria’s

Gloria’s is a fine Latin Cuisine restaurant with a bar, outdoor patio and a four-and-a-half star rating on nearly all food rating apps, including Zagat. Gloria’s is perfect for a gathering with friends, family, and perhaps a date. The indoors is dimly lit and romantic, while the outdoor patio is spacious, overlooking a lovely pond and fountain. Try their sour cream chicken enchiladas if you really want to be impressed.

4. Twisted Root

A fun restaurant chain that provides you with a celebrity call name as you wait for your burger, Twisted Root is known for its cardboard trays, disco potties, and incredibly tasty food. Twisted Root is perfect for a casual date in the city or for a small gathering of friends. I highly recommend their Spicy Goat burger with fries and chipotle ketchup.

Address: The Shops at Legacy, 7300 Lone Star Dr. C150

3. Cheesecake Factory

Located at Stonebriar Mall (what a bonus!), Cheesecake Factory is a great place to go if you’re craving different kinds of food. Their novel-sized menu contains a wide range of food options from fried chicken to fettuccine alfredo to, of course, cheesecake. Cheesecake Factory is perfect for a romantic date — the colors and tones inside are a soft gold, which glow in the dim light. My favorite is the fettuccine alfredo with bow-tie noodles and sauce on the side, and their passion fruit tea.

Address: Stonebriar Centre, 2601 Preston Rd

2. Mash’d

Mash’d boasts amazing food and a joyful atmosphere. The restaurant is centered amid lots of shops and is near Stonebriar Mall. Mash’d is perfect for Sunday brunch with friends or dinner with family. They also are known to play YouTube videos on their TV screens, which is always entertaining. You can’t go wrong with their Rebellious Burger.

Address: The Centre At Preston Ridge, 3401 Preston Rd #1

1. RA

My absolute favorite is RA, a romantic sushi restaurant right in the center of the Shops of Legacy (near Twisted Root). RA is the perfect place for a fun date or a gathering with friends. Remember, however — it is sushi, so don’t invite seafood haters. But if you do, there is always an option for chicken. RA’s Rainbow Roll, Viva Las Vegas Roll and Fried Calamari are to die for (which by the way, are all listed on the happy hour menu.
