The Lady Bengals earned a spot in the Texas 6A UIL girls basketball playoffs after finishing the season with a 24–6 overall record and a 13–1 district record, winning the District 5-6A title for the third consecutive year.
“This season has been a season of many ‘firsts,'” head coach Lisa Williams said. “We’ve had setbacks and been up and down, hot and cold, but we found a way to finish on top. These Lady Bengals never quit.”
Braswell posted a .800 winning percentage during the regular season and secured first place in district play, separating themselves from league opponents
“They have adapted to the coaching and expectations set for our program,” Williams said. “Our buy-in, desire, commitment, dedication, and culture can potentially take us far.”
Throughout the season, the Lady Bengals recorded several dominant victories, including wins of 93–23 over Lewisville, 81–37 over Hebron, and 71–15 against Panther Creek, highlighting their offensive and defensive strength.
With the district championship secured, Braswell qualified automatically for postseason play and advanced to the bi-district round.
“We are excited to represent Braswell High School in the Texas 6A UIL playoffs,” Williams said.
The Bi-District game will be held Monday, February 16 at Frisco Centennial High School at 6:30 p.m. versus Plano Senior Lady Wildcats. Tickets are available for purchase here.
